What does the ASUS TUF Gaming H7 Wireless look like?

</ img>

Externally, the ASUS TUF Gaming H7 Wireless looks likea very successful symbiosis of gaming headsets and ordinary headphones: the gaming focus is traceable, but without extremes in design and all sorts of highlights. The headset looks stylish and neat (considering its category). The main materials are metal, plastic with soft-touch coating and artificial leather. A black and orange version came to the frames, there is also an even calmer black and gray version. The headset is large in size with large cups.

There are line logos on the earcup attachments to the headband.TUF Gaming, and between the cups and ear pads there are orange inserts. The main part of the cups is covered with Soft-touch plastic. Feels and looks cool. Until you touch it: it collects fingerprints with great pleasure.

TUF Gaming H7 Wireless uses veryA double headband design common in gaming models. The external one is made of black stainless steel and serves as a frame. The second movable headband is soft, the inside is upholstered in leatherette with inserts. Elastic inserts are used inside the structures that attach it to the cups. This design is convenient for home use due to the fact that there is no need to adjust the size of the headband to fit your head. The outer part of the headband is embossed with TUF Gaming, and the edges are stitched with yellow stitching:

The transmitter-receiver is made in the form of a USB flash drive that is familiar both in form and size. It has an LED indicator and a single Connect button:

The headset is assembled well, it does not creak or stagger anywhere, it looks very decent.

How convenient is it to use the ASUS TUF Gaming H7 Wireless?

The double headband design is good becausewhich automatically takes the desired shape without any adjustments and fits any head size (or almost any). The external headband has optimal clamping force: the headset does not fly off the head, but does not put pressure. Thanks to the large cups and ear pads, the ears fit completely inside, and the sound insulation is very good. Quite sufficient for indoor use, which is what the headset is designed for. With prolonged use, the ears begin to overheat a little, which is generally typical for full-size closed models in the summer. But in this case it’s not so critical: you can sit in the TUF Gaming H7 Wireless for 2-3 hours without taking it off. The implementation of the microphone is familiar: a flexible leg allows you to install it in any desired position. While using the headset, I noticed only one slightly unpleasant point: the steel headband makes a noticeable ringing if it is accidentally caught.

In terms of connection, everything is as simple as possible:connect the USB dongle to the USB port and turn on the headset. In any case, this is how it works with PCs running Windows 10 and Sony PlayStation 4. I suspect there will be no problems with Macs either. The transmitter has a Connect button for pairing, although it was never needed during testing.

Headset keeps stable, no glitchesnot even seen through the wall. Although there was no opportunity to move back to the promised 25 meters. As for battery life, there were no questions either. It is difficult to say the exact figure, but on one charge, about half of Uncharted 4 and completely Uncharted: Lost Legacy were covered, and this is about 13-14 hours.

What about sound quality, microphone and software functionality?

ASUS TUF Gaming H7 Wireless is responsible for the sound53mm ASUS Essence dynamic drivers with sealed acoustic chambers. Nothing revolutionary happened in terms of sound quality, but the headset sounds good. All shots, explosions and other game noises sound very convincing. At the same time, I was pleasantly pleased with the absence of outright overkill with low frequencies, which is often found in gaming models: TUF Gaming H7 Wireless sounds relatively smooth, mid and high frequencies are not lost behind a wall of low-frequency hum. There are no problems with positioning sound sources during the game. The H7 Wireless is also suitable for listening to music, provided you are not an audio nerd. For the average user the quality will be quite sufficient. The microphone cuts out the ambient noise of the surrounding room very well and breathing, and the quality of voice transmission is at a high level: detailed and clear. But, of course, the quality is sufficient for communication, but not for recording: after all, the range of such microphones is somewhat compressed, which is noticeable.

By and large, the headset works fine andwithout software. But to set up, it's still worth installing the Armory II app. It is common to all current gaming peripherals ASUS. In the application, you can adjust the volume of the headphones, microphone, equalizer, turn on various enhancers such as Voice Clarity, Bass Boost, adjust the compressor and Noise Gate for better clipping of ambient noise. There is also a software emulation of surround sound, which works pretty well. In general, the software is convenient, understandable and functional. Although for some reason such an obvious thing as an indication of the battery charge has not yet been provided:
