Audi unveils Skysphere: a premium electric vehicle concept that can extend its wheelbase

German manufacturer Audi has announced its new premium concept car.

The new product was called Audi Skysphere.This is an all-electric roadster with a futuristic design, which traces the features of the company's future cars. By the way, when creating the car, the designers were inspired by the appearance of the Horch 853, which was released in a single copy in 1937.

The main feature of the Audi Skysphere is itsdesign. The fact is that this is a transformable electric car. It is capable of increasing its wheelbase by 250 mm and ground clearance by 10 mm. In sports mode, the length of the car is 4.94 meters, and in normal mode it is 5.19 meters. According to Audi, the car doesn't just change its size, but also its driving characteristics. For example, in the “unfolded” state, Skysphere has an increased level of comfort, as well as more space in the cabin.

Regarding technical characteristics,The new product is equipped with a 465-kilowatt electric motor. Its power is 632 hp. (750 Nm). The motor is installed on the rear axle. Thanks to it, the Audi Skysphere accelerates to “hundreds” in 4 seconds. The engine is powered by a battery with a capacity of more than 80 kWh. One charge should be enough for up to 500 km. This concept weighs 1800 kg.
