Autonomous robots have learned to assemble into a single floating structure

Drones from the Roboat project use cameras, lidar algorithms and computer vision algorithms to

search for other robots with QR-like tags, and then take up a position for docking by team. If the docking is not successful, the robots try to perform the operation again.

The docking mechanism itself is a “ball-socket” system in which a laser is used to determine when the ball is inside, fixing the arriving robot.

Earlier, Boston Dynamics showed how its robosawack plays with a real shepherd.
