When you share a photo on Instagram, be it a version for iOS or Android, we do everything to ensure that it loads in the best quality.

If your photo is from 320 to 1080 pixels, thenquality will not be lost. If the aspect ratio of the image is between 1.91: 1 and 4: 5, then Instagram will not compress it. If the resolution of your image is greater, then the system will automatically compress it horizontally to 1080 pixels.

  • No processing: Photos in width from 320 to 1080 pixels and in height from 566 to 1350 pixels. Aspect ratio from 1.91: 1 to 4: 5.
  • Stretching: If the photo is smaller than 320 pixels wide, it will be stretched.Compression: If a photo is larger than 1080 pixels wide or 1350 high, it will be compressed.
