The Pentagon will allocate $466 million to BAE. The contract is valid until December 2026, and work will take place at plants in Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Alabama, Michigan and South Carolina.

BAE Systems will supply the US Army with the latestself-propelled artillery installations M109A7 Paladin. At the same time, the exact number is not mentioned on the website of the US Department of Defense. Together with howitzers, the military will receive M992 transport-loading vehicles.

Upgrading to the M109A7 level brought a newa fire control system and an advanced semi-automatic loading system. After the upgrade, an electric drive appeared, thanks to which it was possible to abandon the hydraulic control systems of the gun and increase the ammunition load.

The M109A7 Paladin is based on the M2 Bradley chassis.The maximum speed on the highway is 67 km / h, and the cruising range is 300 km. The howitzer is equipped with a 155 mm cannon and can hit targets at a distance of up to 30 km.
