BAE Systems has unveiled drone concepts that can be used for strike and

reconnaissance missions.

What is known

The manufacturer announced two drones.So far, they are called UAS Concept 1 and UAS Concept 2. Both will be able to carry potentially destructive payloads, and the maximum speed will be 617.4 km/h (Mach 0.5) and 926.1 km/h (Mach 0.75), respectively. .

Let's start with UAS Concept 1.He will receive a jet engine and will be able to move at an altitude of up to 9 km. The battery life will be 4 hours, and the maximum payload mass (sensors or ammunition) will be 40 kg. The developers plan to add support for the use of UAVs as part of a swarm.

UAS Concept 2 will weigh 3.5 tons and will be able tocarry loads up to 500 kg. The maximum flight altitude will be 12 km, and the operating time will be up to 5 hours. To launch an unmanned aerial vehicle, you will need a runway.

The drone can be equipped with air-to-ground and air-to-air missiles. BAE Systems says the UAS Concept 2 could be put into service with the Navy.
