Banks, stock exchanges and insurance companies: Ukrainian IT army attacked more than 800 Russian resources in a week

The Ministry of Digital Development has published another weekly report on the successes of the IT army on the digital front.

What is known

From May 23 to May 29, more than 800 Russian online resources were attacked. Namely:

  • Banks. Clients of many Russian banks were unable to use online banking.
  • microfinance organizations.Due to the attacks, microloans were unavailable.
  • Exchanges.To withstand the onslaught of cyber attacks and continue to function, Russian exchanges had to cut off access abroad.
  • RuStore.Following the exchanges, the RuStore application store (Russian analogue of Google Play) hid behind a geoblock from DDoS attacks.
  • Insurance companies.The attacks hit online insurance services.
  • Russian media.Traditionally, Russians have had a harder time using Kremlin propaganda over the weekend due to cyber attacks on regional media websites and TV channels.
