Batteries in Samsung smartphones began to swell due to abnormal heat

July was one of the hottest months on record for much of Europe. Great Britain

was especially caught in the intense heat whenaverage temperatures are higher than in recent decades. Many Europeans were not used to such weather and suffered greatly because of it. As it turns out, smartphones also became victims of the heat.

What happened?

Famous tech blogger Arun Maini, also known as Mrwhosetheboss on YouTube, noticed that Samsung gadgets could not cope with the heat: the batteries on three of his old smartphones were swollen. And they swelled well, as evidenced by the photos.

Maini wrote on social media that the batteries swelled during the recent heatwave in the UK. Moreover, only Samsung smartphones were affected—models from other manufacturers were unharmed.

But it’s worth noting that smartphones are clearly more3 years, and swollen batteries in old devices are, unfortunately, a common problem. It's also unlikely that the batteries in each of these three phones came from the same supplier. In addition, millions of people around the world use Samsung phones in regions where temperatures are consistently higher than the UK this month. Therefore, it is not yet worthwhile to accurately connect the weather with what happened.
