According to journalists, only TSMCwill accept orders for Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from Qualcomm. However, the chipset, most likely, will not be produced according to the current 3nm technology of the Taiwanese. It is likely that the 4nm process technology will be used again, that is, the same one that was used by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

The chipset configuration will be:a high performance core codenamed Makalu, two Makalu cores, two Matterhorn cores, and three Klein R1 cores. These codenames will correspond to Cortex-X3, Cortex-A715 and the updated Cortex-A510.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is also expected to receivethe latest Qualcomm Snapdragon X70 5G modem, allowing it to achieve new peak download speeds while reducing power consumption by up to 60%. According to insiders, we can expect a significant increase in GPU performance and an increase in the overall performance of the chipset by about 10%.
