Bell and Boeing received $482.3 million for the production and supply of CMV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft for the US Navy

Boeing and Bell received an additional contract to produce tiltrotors for the Navy

USA. The deal was announced on the official website of the US Department of Defense.

The combined office received $482.3 million.The new deal is aimed at the production and supply of four convertiplanes. Work will take place at factories in Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, Utah and will be completed by June 2026.

CMV-22B is one of several modificationstiltrotor V-22 Osprey. This version is used by the US Navy transport aircraft. The aircraft is capable of speeds up to 565 km/h and 185 km/h in airplane and helicopter modes, respectively.

Compared to the MV-22B, the US Navy variant hasincreased range, improved fuel drain capability, a public address system for passengers, and an improved cargo loading lighting system. The CMV-22B will be able to carry up to 6,000 pounds (2,720 kg) of cargo/personnel for a distance of 1,150 nautical miles (2,130 km).
