Brain Computer Interface Synchron Switchdesigned to detect and wirelessly transmit motor intentions from the brain. This will bring back the ability for severely paralyzed patients to control their personal devices using point-and-click functionality, hands-free. The device is implanted into a blood vessel on the surface of the motor cortex through the jugular vein in a minimally invasive endovascular procedure, the company says.

Synchron received permission fromThe U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct clinical trials involving humans as early as July 2021, overtaking the main competitor, Neuralink, Elon Musk. The aim of the first study was to implant a device called Stentrode into the brain so that paralyzed patients could control the cursor with the "power of thought".

We have the opportunity to provide the first ina class-leading commercial brain-computer interface. The problem of paralysis is much more serious than people think. 100 million people around the world are affected by the work of the upper limbs.
