BOE will overtake Samsung to become the main supplier of iPhone screens

Samsung lost orders for top-end Snapdragon chips in the second half of last year, but that's not all

problems that await the Korean manufacturerin the medium term. Well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo assessed the prospects for future iPhone shipments and concluded that Samsung may lose its dominant role in this process. The specialist believes that in the second half of 2023, the Chinese supplier BOE will receive 70% of orders for screens for the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, and the rest will remain with Samsung. Right now, BOE's involvement in the iPhone 14 isn't significant – about 12-15% in 2022 (all 4 models are taken into account).

Next – more:in 2024, production of LTPO panels for the iPhone 16 Pro will begin. If BOE manages to take 20-30% of orders for premium OLED screens, subject to maintaining 70% of the supply for “budget” iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, then this company will be the first on the list of “apple” partners. This will provide not only image benefits for BOE, but also good financial performance in the next few years, which is where Kuo's analysis work is focused. He also mentioned that BOE products will also be available in affordable foldable Android smartphones, but that's another story.
