Bose is recalling more than 1 million older subwooferswhich were part of the Acoustimass, Lifestyle and Companion home theater systems. They were sold from January 1994 to April 2007 in many major retail stores. Back then they cost between $220 and $2,200.

The reason is that Bose received 21 reports worldwide of devices catching fire. In some cases this resulted in property damage, but fortunately no users were harmed.
