Boston Dynamics Atlas robot can now do gymnastics

Another video from Boston Dynamics, as usual, surprises and frightens at the same time. Their two-legged robot can now

stand on your hands, do somersaults and even somersaults in the air.

How did you achieve this?

New working algorithms allow Atlas to dosuch smooth movements, while reducing development time and bringing the level of performance of command execution to 80%. All teams are decomposed into the simplest movements, which are performed by the robot. Atlas has a special module that allows you to predict your own movements and make them smoothly.

Why is it needed?

The main purpose of the robot is not yet known to us; he can be anything from a butler to a soldier. We also don’t know why Google bought Boston Dynamics.
