The headphones came out with the prefix S2 in the name.The B&W Pi7 S2 provides 24-bit/48kHz audio streaming with support for the aptX Adaptive codec and boasts Adaptive ANC. B&W Pi5 S2 supports the usual aptX codec and standard ANC. Both models feature 9.2mm dynamic drivers, enhanced Bluetooth with a range of up to 25 meters and a battery life of up to five hours. The charging case for the B&W Pi5 S2 will increase battery life to 21 hours, and for the B&W Pi7 S2 to 24 hours.

Both cases support wireless charging, thoughThe Pi7 S2 has the added benefit of Wireless Audio Retransmission. It allows you to connect the case via a cable to an external sound source. For example, to an aircraft's in-flight entertainment system, and then transmit the sound to headphones wirelessly.

Price and when to wait
B&W Pi5 S2 and B&W Pi7 S2 have already started selling on the manufacturer’s official website. The first model costs $299/€299/£249, and the second costs $399/€399/£349.
