British satellites OneWeb launched from Vostochny

The Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle launched at 1:14 Moscow time from the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur region.

This launch was the second at Vostochny in 2021.

The launch, separation of the stages and the orbital block were carried out in the normal mode. After that, the Fregat upper stage continued to launch 36 vehicles into a target circular orbit with an altitude of 450 kilometers.

In accordance with the flight sequence, the satellites will be separated from the upper stage sequentially - in groups of four vehicles. This will take approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes.

Earlier, the FSB called the OneWeb project, which plans to extend the Internet to the entire Earth, a potential threat to Russia's national security.

The constellation of communications satellites, which now has 146 devices, will be increased to 182.
