Canada to send 39 LAV II ACSV light armored vehicles to Ukraine

Ukraine will soon receive several dozen LAV II ACSV armored personnel carriers.

Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau.She said that 39 armored combat support vehicles, as well as spare parts for them and six cameras for unmanned aerial vehicles, will be sent to Ukraine.

The statement was made at the end of the NATO summitin Madrid, which took place from 28 to 30 June. Ukraine will receive LAV II ACSV this summer, but Trudeau did not disclose any more information about sending armored personnel carriers.

Recall that LAV II ACSV is the second generationlight armored personnel carriers. They have a range of 650 km and can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h. Armament includes a 7.62 mm machine gun. The transfer of armored vehicles will deplete the CA$500 million ($387 million) allocated by the Canadian government to help Ukraine.
