Resident Evil Village producer Peter Fabiano spoke with journalists from Official PlayStation Magazine (via Wccftech), revealing more

According to the producer, to surprise fansin RE Village, the developers were inspired by previous games in the series. For example, in the new project, gamers will still watch the action from the first person.
“After all, this is a sequel to Resident Evil 7:Biohazard. It really helped us maintain our vision. And because we constantly share information between all Resident Evil teams, it helps us create what we believe is the best horror game today,” Fabiano explained to the magazine.

The second source of inspiration is Resident Evil 4.Like the fourth game in the series, in RE Village players will be sent to an abandoned village, and the usual zombies will be replaced with more mystical opponents. The developers also specifically note the balance between battles, world exploration and puzzle solving.
"You'll notice that we took inspiration fromResident Evil 4. The team has put a lot of effort into creating a truly authentic experience. There are plenty of surprises to keep you on your toes. Players will find a balance between combat, exploration and puzzle solving,” Fabiano said.
Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
