Carefully! Apple warns motorcycles and mopeds can harm your iPhone

Apple has updated the user support section on the official website, adding new

warning.

What's the best thing not to do?

The manufacturer warns that vibrationfrom motorcycle engines can damage your smartphone camera. After all, optical image stabilization (OIS) and closed-loop autofocus (AF) systems used in cameras have gyroscopes and magnetic sensors, and they are not designed to withstand high-amplitude vibrations.

Therefore, Apple does not recommend attaching the smartphone to the handlebars or chassis of a motorcycle, and also recommends using a shock-absorbing mount to mount the iPhone on mopeds and electric scooters.

“The optical systems used in iPhoneImage stabilization and closed-loop autofocus are designed for long-term use. However, as is the case with many consumer electronic devices that include systems such as OIS, prolonged direct exposure to high amplitude vibrations in certain frequency ranges can degrade the performance of these systems and result in reduced image quality in photographs and videos. It is not recommended to expose iPhone to prolonged exposure to high amplitude vibrations,” the message says.

Why exactly Apple published this warning is unclear - perhaps due to messages appearing on forums about similar cases.

Let's remember that optical image stabilization and/or feedback autofocus are used in the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus, as well as in all Apple smartphones starting with the iPhone 7.
