Cavities were found on the ISS windows. They can lead to loss of tightness.

As the flight director, general designer of the Energia rocket and space corporation said:

Vladimir Solovyov, such formations were found on seven out of twenty portholes of the Russian segment.

This can affect the tightness of the near-Earth laboratory.

In this regard, we have introduced a new procedure for measuring glass deflection. They, of course, can be covered with sealed covers, but what is the point of flying at the station without windows?

Earlier it became known that the ISS found cracks on the oldest module of the ISS, Zarya. It is noted that the cracks will begin to spread over time.

The first air leaks occurred in September 2019: they were repaired, but the leak did not stop, although it decreased. The astronauts continued to search for leaks and seal them.

At the meeting of the Council of Chief Designers, no one gave a guarantee that the station’s equipment would not fail after 2025.
