CD Projekt is working on multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2077, but it is unlikely that it will live to release

CD Projekt has confirmed that it is working on a multiplayer mode for Cyberpunk 2077, but it's too early for gamers to rejoice.

Eurogamer journalist chatted with seniorconcept artist CD projekt Marta Yonkers. In an interview, an employee confirmed that the studio is working on multiplayer, but it’s too early to make a full announcement. CD Projekt has created a team that works on multi-user content, but the development of the regime is still at the R&D stage (research and development).

“We are engaged in research and developmentmulti-user mode, but we focus on single-user experience, and this is what you get in 2020. This does not mean that we say no to multiplayer, but it does not mean that we say yes. It's still in the R&D phase, ”said Yonkers.

CD Projekt boss Adam Badowski spoke about the R&D stage at E3 2018, mentioning the multiplayer components that may appear in Cyberpunk 2077.

Yonkers added that the multiplayer mode will appear in the game only if it fits in. In addition, it must correspond to the level of quality set by The Witcher.

“It’s possible, if it doesn’t fit, then it’s notfits. We would never do anything for Cyberpunk, which does not meet the Witcher standard. I don’t know what awaits us in the future, but we will make sure that everything is of high quality, ”Yonkers added.
