CEO of OnePlus: OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will receive 5G support and will cost more than their predecessors

The CEO of OnePlus gave an interview to the American publication CNET, in which he shared some

details about future new products.

So, according to Pete Lau, OnePlus 8 andOnePlus 8 Pro will be equipped with modems supporting the fifth generation network (5G). Because of this, both smartphones will cost more than their predecessors. Let's remember that OnePlus 7T at the start of sales started at $600, and its older brother OnePlus 7T Pro started at $870.

Lau did not disclose any other information about smartphones.but according to leaks, both new products will run on the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip and will have AMOLED displays with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

In the younger model the screen will be 6.5 inches, and in the older one - 6.65. OnePlus 8 will also receive 6/8/12 GB of RAM, 128/256 GB of ROM, a main triple camera of 48 MP + 16 MP + 2 MP, a 4000 mAh battery and proprietary fast charging Warp Charge 30T. The older version, in turn, will boast a 4500 mAh battery, a camera with four modules, fast charging at 10V 5A and, most importantly, wireless at 30 W.

When to expect

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro should be announced as early as next month. Presumably, the presentation will take place on April 14.

By the way, OnePlus is also working on a cheaper OnePlus 8 Lite. The device will have a 90 Hz display, a MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chip and will debut in the summer.
