China has overtaken Russia in the production of weapons

According to representatives of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, China has succeeded

overtake Russia in weapons production. Thus, China took second place in the ranking of weapons manufacturers, while Russia was in third, and first – United States.

The study was based on data thatwere received from 2015 to 2017 from Chinese arms manufacturers. According to representatives of the institute, as part of the study, about four large Chinese arms companies were analyzed, sharing data on financial statements. As part of the analysis, the researchers immediately studied three areas of conventional weapons, including aerospace, electronic and ground.

So, it was found that all four studiedcompanies were able to enter the top 12 largest arms manufacturers in the world, three of which were in the top ten. It is reported that the total sales of weapons from 2015 to 2017 amounted to about 54.1 billion dollars.
