China launched the base module of the future space station

Launched from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center in the southern province of Hainan using a heavy-duty Long March 5 launch vehicle.

The Chinese orbital station was named Tiangong (Heavenly Palace).

The base module has:living space, instrumentation and docking compartments. The residential module includes a kitchen, toilet, computers and communication systems with the command post; in addition, scientific and technological experiments will be carried out here.

The main module of the station is 16.6 meters long and with a maximum diameter of 4.2 meters. It is the largest spacecraft made in China

To complete construction, you need 11 morelaunches and a little over a year. It is assumed that in June a manned ship with three taikonauts on board will fly to the station to assemble and connect the delivered equipment. It is planned to complete the assembly of the station in orbit in 2022,
