China successfully launched data relay satellite

The satellite is designed to shorten the timedata transmission to Earth from the Chinese manned spacecraft "Shenzhou" from the space station "Tiangong", which is currently being created in orbit, and other spacecraft.

Also launching a satellite will improve control andmeasurement of parameters during the launch of Chinese spacecraft. It will be part of China's global data relay network, which already has four similar devices launched earlier.

In March 2016, China also successfully launched a new generation relay satellite, Tianlian-2-01.
