China to send taikonauts to the moon in 2027

According to Wu Yanshen, head of the country's largest space contractor, China will launch a ship capable of

carry out the first manned mission to the Moonalready in 2027. Yanshen noted that a manned mission will be possible after the development of a new generation rocket (Rocket 921), which will carry a three-seat orbiter and a lunar lander for two crew members.

According to the corporation, "Rocket 921" - asChinese experts believe that we are talking about the Long March CZ-5G - it will be able to deliver a payload of 70 tons to lower Earth orbit and up to 25 tons to the Moon. The development utilizes the advanced technologies used to build the advanced Long March CZ heavy-lift low-Earth orbit rocket, including its engines.

The CASC noted that the manned mission is notChina's only lunar project. The plans include new flights of the Chang'e mission, an automatic interplanetary station that travels to the Earth's satellite. The corporation hopes to use the stations in 2026 to deliver regolith samples from the far side of the Moon, and in 2028 to begin construction of a research lunar station near the south pole of the natural satellite.

But that's not all.China also plans to send several probes to the gas giants and their satellites before the end of the 20s. And the most ambitious project is to start searching for habitable planets outside the solar system by 2030.
