Chinese astronauts went into outer space for the second time to adjust equipment

Crew commander Nie Haisheng and his partner Liu Boming, who are in the Chinese manned spacecraft

left the Tianhe Base Module to complete three tasks:

  • install pumping equipment,
  • raise the external panoramic video camera,
  • prepare and fix a set of tools on the outer skin.

The third member of the crew, Tang Hongbo, would remain inside the module at this time to observe the instruments and coordination.

Previously, the astronauts, on July 4, also went into outer space, last time Liu Boming and Tang Hongbop were outside the living module for seven hours.

The basic module of the future Chinese space station was launched in April 2021. It will take 11 launches and a little over a year to complete the work.
