Chinese device took a selfie on Mars

The Chinese Mars rover Zhurong sent a batch of new images from Mars to Earth. The robot landed on the planet in May,

I installed a wireless camera there and rolled a short distance to take a photo.

To the right of Zhurong is a rocket-powered platform that allowed the six-wheeled vehicle to softly land on the planet. Chinese flags are also visible in the photo.

The second image taken by the rover showsdevice platform. For example, in the photograph, you can distinguish the ramp along which Zhurong descended to the surface, and the footprints left by him in the dust when turning.

The third image shows a view of the horizon from the landing site. This region is called Utopia Planitia, a vast area in the northern hemisphere of Mars. All images were released by the Chinese space agency at a ceremony celebrating the success of the rover's mission.
