Chinese search engine Baidu introduced its own alternative to ChatGPT

Baidu, the developer of China's most popular search engine, has unveiled a chatbotpowered by Ernie Bot AI.

This development should compete with Microsoft's ChatGPT and Bard's chatbotGoogle.Baidu notes that the new AI will still be finalized, but the company decided to release it "due to market demands."

During the presentation of the Ernie Bot, the company's representatives showed several pre-recorded short videos.The creators did not demonstrate interaction with the chatbot in real time. 

Video footage shows Ernie Bot responding toquestions on the popular Chinese sci-fi novel The Three-Body Problem, performs math calculations, understands Chinese dialects, and creates videos and images with text prompts.

The company noted that Ernie Bot is open for limited testing by invitation.In addition, companies can apply to embed the bot into their products through Baidu's cloud platform.According to the CEO of Baidu, about 650 companies have already announced their intention to join the Ernie Bot platform. 

In the future, the company plans to use ErnieBot to improve the search engine. In addition, the chatbot is planned to be used to improve the efficiency of cloud computing, to integrate it into the work of smart cars and household appliances.
