Codemasters announced that they have pushed back the release date of DIRT 5 again, but this time not due to production issues.

On the official DIRT page developersannounced that the fifth game in the series will be released on November 6, and not October 16. This applies to versions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and early access for Amplified Edition owners will open on November 3.
The release date for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X editions is still scheduled for "later this year."

In the publication, the developers did not give a clearexplanation, but Codemasters CEO Frank Sagnier explained the reason in a corporate letter. According to the CEO, the new release date will allow the release of versions for the new and old generations closer to each other. Thus, the company wants to “take advantage of the launch of next-generation consoles.”
"DiRT 5 has received widespread critical acclaim,culminating in the game winning the gamescom 2020 Best Racing Game Award on August 30th. The revised launch date will allow us to take advantage of the launch of the next generation of consoles, which is expected to coincide with the holiday season,” writes Sagnier.
