Codemasters has announced GRID, a reboot of the iconic racing series for a new generation

Codemasters has announced the fourth game in the GRID series, which will be released on consoles and computers in 2019.


According to the developers, in the continuation of gamersNew modes, cars and the “nemesis” system await. For races, players will be able to choose cars from several classes, including GT, touring, stock, muscle cars and "super-modified". Virtual racers will compete in races on classic tracks, city streets, as well as in point-to-point modes and time trials.

Codemasters also boasted artificialintelligence of opponents that will force players to perform to the limit. In addition, opponents will react to the player’s actions, responding with revenge to excessive aggressiveness during the race. The developers also promise to add realistic damage to GRID, which will affect not only the appearance, but also the behavior of the car.

Fernando also made Codemasters proudAlonso, two-time Formula 1 world champion. The racer became a consultant for the project, helping the GRID developers in creating the correct behavior of the car. In addition, Alonso will become a character in the new Codemasters game.

Known for its controls, the game will appeal to all types of players, from casual gamers looking for a challenge to simulation fans looking for some serious fun,” said Chris Smith, Game Director at GRID.

GRID will be released on September 13, 2019on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and Steam users can already pre-order. Please note that owners of the GRID Ultimate Edition will have access to the game three days earlier.
