Coffee turns out to be a life-prolonging drink

Experts note that coffee has antioxidant properties. In addition, a number of studies show that coffee reduces the risk of death.

Thus, in a study whose resultspublished in the New England Journal of Medicine, the effect of coffee on overall and specific mortality was studied. The number of participants in this study – 229,119 men and 173,141 women. Coffee drinkers, the findings say, had a lower risk of death during the study period (12-13 years).

In another similar study, described inpublication in the European Journal of Preventative Cardiology, compared coffee consumption with the risk of death from cardiovascular disease and the risk of overall mortality. 508,747 men and women (ages 20 to 79 years) took part in the experiment over 20 years.

In general, scientific research has proven that ifIf you drink four to five cups of coffee a day, your risk of early death will decrease by 14 or 16 percent, respectively. And if you drink one cup daily, the likelihood of death decreases by five to six percent.

In addition, according to scientists, coffee drinkers are less likely to die from heart disease, diabetes, stroke, respiratory diseases, injuries and infections.

Longevity is believed to be due to the presence of polyphenols in coffee.
