Components from Germany, China and Japan were found in the Russian secret Cartograph drone with a dozen 80-megapixel cameras

The British edition of The Times has familiarized itself with a document from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which talks about

features of the secret Russian drone “Cartograph” of the “Ptero” class.

What is known

During the study of unmanned aerialapparatus experts found foreign components. In particular, the drone is equipped with a German-made engine, the spark plug was bought in Japan, and the microprocessor for the cameras was imported by the Russians from China.

The Times notes that the drone can leadobservation from a height of 5 km, where man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems cannot reach. Therefore, Ukrainian servicemen are forced to wait until the drone descends in order to shoot it down. Despite this, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already been able to shoot down at least eight such drones. The last "Cartographer" was destroyed a few weeks ago in the Nikolaev region.

One of the features of the unmanned aerial vehicle is a system of 12 cameras with a resolution of 80 MP for panoramic photography and video filming. And outwardly, the Cartographer resembles the Orlan-10 drone.
