Computer taught to warn users of fake news

A computer has been trained to warn users about fake news. System based on artificial

intelligence is capable of searching for so-called fake news and even pictures that can manipulate the user’s opinion.

The system was developed by scientists from the UniversityNotre Dame. Their goal was to create a tool to combat the growing number of social media campaigns that incite ethnic conflicts. In addition, the researchers wanted the system to be able to prevent the spread of misinformation that could affect elections.

Artificial intelligence identifies images using computer vision technology. The system is now being tested on the search for memes about current politicians and US presidential candidates.

It is reported that the program was trained at two million posts on social networks that appeared during the 2019 election in Indonesia.
