What is known

The chipset is built using a 7-nanometer process technologyTSMC and has ARM Cortex-A77 cores. They were introduced a couple of days ago. They boast increased processing power and improved energy efficiency compared to their predecessors. The Mali-G77 GPU video accelerator is responsible for the graphics of the SoC.

The new MediaTek processor received APU 3.0 technology (AI Processing Unit), which adds support for camera modules up to 80 megapixels, as well as autofocus and autoexposure in real time.

The SoC was equipped with an integrated Helio M70 modemwith support for the fifth generation network. It is a multi-mode set of chips that are capable of operating not only in 5G networks, but also in 2G, 3G, 4G. This modem supports a maximum download speed of 4.7 Gbps.

The manufacturer promised to provide more detailed information about the chip in the coming months.

When to expect

The processor will begin to be delivered to customers in the third quarter of this year, and the first smartphones based on it will appear only in 2020.
