Confirmed: Samsung's cheapest 5G smartphone will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip

Details about Samsung's new budget smartphone continue to appear online. This time the device

appeared in the Geekbench performance test database.

What is known

The smartphone comes with model number SM-A226GB and,According to several sources, this is the Galaxy A22 5G. The device has 6GB of RAM, Android 11 OS pre-installed and, most importantly, an MT6833/NZA (aka MediaTek Dimensity 700) processor. This is a 7nm chip that was introduced late last year. It boasts a built-in 5G modem, as well as two high-performance ARM Cortex-A76 cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.2 GHz and six energy-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz.

Other details about the new Geekbench product are notreveals, but it is rumored that the Galaxy A22 5G will also have a 6.5-inch LCD panel, 32/64/128 GB of ROM and a camera with 48 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP sensors.
