Contract for 36,000,000 euros: Estonia buys an additional batch of Korean self-propelled guns K9 Thunder

The Estonian Defense Investment Center has entered into a contract with the South Korean company Hanwha Techwin for the supply

additional batch of K9 Thunder howitzers.

What is known

We are talking about 12 self-propelled artillery units worth 36,000,000 euros. Weapon deliveries are planned until 2026. By the way, Estonia received its first K9 Thunder self-propelled guns in 2020.

For those who are not in the know

K9 Thunder is a modern South Korean 155mmself-propelled artillery installation. The self-propelled gun was developed in the 90s by Samsung Techwin for the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Korea. The installation crew consists of 5 people. The firing range of the self-propelled gun is about 40 km.
