Contrary to common sense Motorola, following Xiaomi, introduced the same long-range wireless charging

Xiaomi today announced a new wireless charging technology, Mi Air Charge, which allows

Charge smartphones without using wired docking stations. And on the same day, Motorola also presented a similar technology.

How it works

Since both developments (Xiaomi and Motorola)are a wireless charger that can power gadgets from a long distance, then, of course, comparisons cannot be avoided. Their operating principle is similar, only Mi Air Charge from Xiaomi can charge gadgets at a distance of several meters, while Motorola’s distance is limited to 80-100 centimeters.

The operation of the charger called Motorola One Hyper is shown in the video. In the video, the device charges a pair of Motorola Edge smartphones, which are located at different distances from it.

It is also clear that if between them appearsobstacle (in this case, a human hand), then charging automatically stops. But it is not yet clear whether this was done for security purposes or whether the technology simply does not know how to cope with obstacles.

Motorola does not specify how much such a charging station will cost and when it will be available for sale.
