Corsair K100 keyboards have started to behave very strangely: they are typing on their own and repeating text entered a few days ago

Some time ago, users began to notice strange behavior of their Corsair K100 keyboards, which

can sometimes seriously frighten the owner.

What is known

So, the keyboards suddenly startprint when no one is using them. Moreover, they enter text that was typed by the user several days or even weeks ago. Agree, this is pretty creepy. In order to stop this, you need to turn off the device and turn it on again. Although after a while strange actions still repeat themselves.

This is an unpleasant experience as Corsair is oneone of the most famous gaming peripheral brands, and the K100 is one of the most expensive keyboards at $200. Users suspected a keylogger - a special software or hardware device that records various actions: keystrokes on a computer keyboard, movements and mouse clicks, etc. As a result, attackers can find out the personal data, logins and passwords of their victims.

Corsair is aware of this issue, but says:It is not a keylogger, so users do not have to worry about sensitive information. Most likely, the error is related to the keyboard macro recording function. “Corsair keyboards specifically do not log user input and do not have the ability to log individual keystrokes,” a company spokesperson emphasized.

He also says it's not common.problem - it affects a small number of keyboards. Some, but not all, users have seen the issue resolved with a recent firmware update released by Corsair.
