This maneuver involved NASA astronauts Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover and Shannon Walker, along with
NASA explained that this maneuver was needed toin order to make way for another ship, Crew Dragon, which is slated to launch on April 23rd. It will deliver American astronauts Shane Kimbrow and Megan MacArthur to the orbital station, as well as Japanese Akihiko Hoshide and Frenchman Tom Peske. The crew will launch on April 22 from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center.
Such a redocking of the Crew Dragon spacecraft on the ISSwas held for the first time. The researchers plan that the astronauts will return to Earth on April 28. In addition to them, the American Kathleen Rubins, as well as Russian cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Sergei Kud-Sverchkov are now at the orbital station.
