Cybersecurity Experts and Educators Discuss How to Protect Schoolchildren fromnetwork threats at the forefront

Aleksey Zaslavsky, a senior expert in information security and cyberculture at VK and a corresponding member of the International Academy of Sciences, recommended that parents build an open dialogue with their child.

Only with openness and mutual understanding,the parent will be able to explain to the student why such extensions as parental control, profile privacy are important and how they can help in situations that are dangerous for the child, the expert noted. According to experts, developing the ability to think critically, creating a trusting and safe environment in the family and school, as well as the ability of teachers and parents to explain the rules of online behavior will help protect children from threats.

Probably a developed critical thinking skill,one of the main factors that shows that a child knows how to use the Internet with benefit. Therefore, the role of the teacher as a mentor is to teach the student to critically look at any kind of information in the digital environment.
