According to Coindesk, Minister for Digitaltransformation of Ukraine, Mikhail Fedorov turned directly to the issuer of the stablecoin Tether and CTO Paolo Ardoino and asked the company to stop all transactions with the Russians.
Tether did not respond directly to Fedorov, but inIn a statement to CoinDesk, it said: “Tether is constantly monitoring the market to ensure there are no illegal movements or measures that may conflict with international sanctions.”
This policy appears to be in linecryptocurrency exchanges Coinbase and Kraken, which also rejected requests to disable all Russian accounts, but promised not to allow the sanctions imposed by the West to be circumvented.
