Last week, Germany expressed a desire to acquire all 96 Swiss Leopard 2 tanks. They will not be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but will strengthen the defense of Germany itself.
On the eve of the Czech Republic also sent a request for the purchase of tanks. This was confirmed by Vice President of Switzerland Viola Amherd. At the same time, Switzerland has not yet responded to any of the countries.
The Swiss army is armed with 96 Leopard 2 tanks. The country's government is ready to sell part of the combat vehicles. The Ministry of Defense states that 34 tanks are required for their own needs.
