Ukraine expects to receive modern “NATO” standard tanks from the United States and Germany.
What is known
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal spoke about this in an interview with the German news agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur. We are talking about American Abrams tanks and German Leopard 2 tanks.
“We expect the United States to supply us with their Abrams tanks, and Germany with their Leopard 2. These are the modern tanks that Ukraine needs on the battlefield.”

Abrams is the main battle tank of the thirdgeneration made in USA. The tank is named after General Creighton Abrams, former Chief of Staff of the US Army and commander of US forces in Vietnam from 1968 to 1972. The Abrams is a well-armed, armored, mobile combat vehicle designed to operate in a variety of environments.

Leopard 2 is the main battle tank,which is produced by the German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. Leopard 2 is the successor to the Leopard 1 battle tank. Production of the Leopard 2 began in 1979. The tank is in service with Austria, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and Turkey. A total of 3,200 Leopard 2 tanks were produced.
