Developer Outbound Ghost pulls game off sale and threatens publisher with legal action if publisher doesn't give him back control of the game

The developer of indie RPG The Outbound Ghost is asking users not to buy his game because, in his opinion, it is not

meets its quality standards.He also blocked sales of the game on Steam – only platform and is threatening to sue publisher Digerati, who he says is refusing to give him back control of the game.

The PC version of the game was launched in September of thisyears after a successful Kickstarter campaign and received mostly positive reviews, which cannot be said about the versions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. On December 1st, publisher Digerati announced that an update with additional languages ​​would be coming soon for the game, but on December 4th they released another statement acknowledging that the game had performance issues on some platforms. On December 8, he released another statement that while the PS4 version has already received two updates, the first update for the Nintendo Switch is still under review.

“Digerati has released over 50 different gamesfor the console, and launches with such situations are an exception. We remain firmly committed to improving The Outbound Ghost as quickly as possible”, – the publisher reports.

However, Outbound developer Ghost ConradicalGames was not happy with how Digerati handled the situation. Shortly after the launch of the Switch version, lead developer Conrad Grindheim claimed that he was not in control of the launch and accused the publisher of releasing an unapproved and likely incomplete build of the game.

Yesterday, Dec. 8, Grindheim posted a video update in which he threatened legal action against Digerati if she didn't relinquish control of The Outbound Ghost across all platforms.
