7 million people die each year due to air pollution
According to official data from the World Organization
Journalists from the BMJ write about this, citingresults of scientists' research. “The results of our measurements show that almost all of these consequences could have been avoided if the authorities of megacities had adhered to the standards for ozone concentration in the air that are prescribed by WHO standards,” – say the researchers.
Scientists also noted that in the case of a decreasethe share of gases in the atmosphere to acceptable standards can improve the situation in those cities where these requirements are followed, and this, in turn, would reduce the level of mortality from air pollution.
