five billion downloads mark.Most of them are pre-installed Google apps, which is not surprising. Last year, Facebook was able to join the elite club. Now the company’s messenger, WhatsApp, has done this.

The number of WhatsApp downloads has exceeded fivebillion. True, not all of them relate to downloads from the Google Play Store: the total number also includes pre-installed copies. In the past, the pre-installation of the messenger was carried out, for example, by Samsung. New owners of the Galaxy S6 could find WhatsApp on their smartphone immediately after purchase.

However, most of the downloads still occur on the Google Play Store. The fact that WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messengers in the world is hard to deny.
