Digitimes: Huawei partners with Chery to launch smart car systems

As reported by Digitimes, Huawei has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Chinese automaker Chery Automobile.

What is known

Both companies will begin to jointly developsmart automotive systems. We are talking about electric intelligent cars, smart seats for drivers, computing platforms using cloud services and much more. By the way, Chery is not the first automobile company with which Huawei works. The Chinese tech giant is also collaborating with ASIC Motor, GAC Group, Beijing Automotive Group, Great Wall Motors and BYD.

Chery Automobile was founded in 1997 byinitiative of the mayor's office of Wuhu city in Anhui province. Several state-owned companies and provincial holdings, as well as small investors, became Chery's shareholders. Production of the first cars began in 1999, after the company purchased equipment from Ford's European plant. Eight years later, the millionth car of this brand was released onto the market.
