Director mode and video in 8K resolution: what will be the camera of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S11

Thanks to beta versions of proprietary firmware One UI 2.0 for Samsung smartphones, developers will learn more

information about the new flagship Samsung Galaxy S11. This time, the code found details about the camera.

What's new

So, in the Samsung Camera application appearedsupport for shooting video in 8K resolution, as well as mention of aspect ratio 20: 9. Of course, the smartphone that will receive this “set” is not specified, but most likely it is the Galaxy S11, because before it was attributed to such a screen and a 108-megapixel camera.

Also, enthusiasts from XDA Developers found newfunctions for the camera. The most interesting of them is Director’s View, that is, the director’s mode. It will allow you to switch between different camera modules (like the iPhone 11) while shooting video, “fix” focus on a specific object and choose a close-up.

Another feature is Night Hyperlapse. How it works is not written in the code, but most likely it is an existing Hyperlapse accelerated video mode, but with night mode.

Also add vertical panoramas andcustom filters. And the Single Take Photo function allows you to shoot a specific scene in a series of photos and short videos, slowly moving the smartphone for 15 seconds.

Recall, the flagship Samsung Galaxy S11 should be released in February next year.
