Disney's new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser teaser reveals an interesting and almost mythical thing – lightsaber, blade

How is it implemented?
Despite the fact that any reliablethere is no information about the new product (and in general it is impossible to say whether the sword is real), fans of the Star Wars universe are already making assumptions about the mechanism that extends the blade.
Twitter user @benridout posted a 3D animation of how the mysterious mechanism might work. He also explained how it works:
“The Disney lightsaber reimagines the design of the roulette wheel. Imagine two building tape measures fastened together face-to-face. Secure the ends of the unfolded tape with a round cap.
Did #Disney invent a real working #lightsaber?
Yes they did.
It won't melt through metal blast doors, or cut off your hand, but it does feature an illuminated blade that will extend and retract at the push of a button.

Next, expand the tape and bend it more so that their edges form a whole cylinder. Add a motor so that the two parts extend at the same time at the push of a button. You now have a lightsaber! "
